Former NBAer Augmon Glad to be Back at UNLV

July 19 - Fifteen-year NBA veteran Stacey Augmon, now in his second season as a player development coach for the Denver Nuggets, has been enjoying his time back at his alma mater's home court -- the University of Nevada-Las Vegas' (UNLV) Thomas & Mack Center -- this week for the 2008 NBA Summer League.

Back in 1991, Augmon became the first three-time winner of the National Association of Basketball Coaches' defensive player of the year honors. He was an integral part of one of the most feared college basketball teams of all-time, teaming with NBA standout Larry Johnson, along with Greg Anthony and Anderson Hunt.

Augmon sees this history in the form of framed photographs of the Running Rebels of yore on the walls. These days, though, he's concentrating on dispensing his defensive wisdom to young Nuggets Dahntay Jones and Keith Langford.
