Olympic Host China Faces Tall Odds to Win Men's Hoop Gold

August 2 -- Oddsmakers are giving Olympic host China virtually no chance to win Gold in the Men's basketball competition. The odds of the Chinese team finishing in first is 50/1, despite being led by current NBA stars Yao Ming, Yi Jianlian, former NBA player Wang Zhizhi and several CBA contributors..

Meanwhile, Team USA - the so-called "Redeem Team" - are an overwhelming 1/4 favorite to take the Gold. Despite recent failures in international competition, the US team led by Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony and Dwayne Wade seem to be on the right track so far. The American team looked impressive in sweeping all three tune-up contests, winning by wide margins.
