Another NBA Player Contemplating a Move Overseas

July 26 -- According to published reports, Cleveland Cavaliers restricted free agent point guard Delonte West is considering a two-year, $10 million offer to play for Dynamo Moscow.

Negotiations were believed to be progressing between West and the Cavaliers, but the team is not expected to offer more than the five-year, $20.8 million deal shooting guard Daniel Gibson signed last week. Because West is a restricted free agent, the Cavaliers can match any offer he receives from another NBA team. However, but Cleveland has no such edge with foreign teams.

The left-handed West, 25, stands to secure a more substantial deal from an international team that is not bound by NBA salary cap or luxury tax rules, and can also pay in the stronger euro.

Earlier this week, Atlanta Hawks free agent forward Josh Childress stunned his former team by accepting a three-year, $21 million deal from Olympiacos in Greece. Last week, New Jersey forward Bostjan Nachbar signed with Dynamo Moscow.

Other NBA players such as Juan Carlos Navarro and Carlos Delfino have agreed to play overseas. Golden State's Andris Biedrins also is reportedly in discussions with a foreign club.
