Pre-season NBA Games to be Played in Europe

March 27 - For the third year in a row, NBA teams will play pre-season games in Europe, taking place in October 2008. However, there are not plans to stage regular season games there.

The games will features the New Jersey Nets, New Orleans Hornets, Washington Wizards and Miami Heat. The venues will be in Paris, London, Berlin and Barcelona.

The Heat will tip-off the tour on October 9 at Bercy arena in Paris against the Nets. The two teams will then meet three days later at the O2 Arena in London.

New Orleans and Washington will meet at Berlin's O2 World arena on October 14 and play again three days later in Barcelona's Palau Sant Jordi.

Games against Euroleague teams, which had been featured in past years, were abandoned this year but could return next year.

NBA teams played last year in London, Rome, Istanbul, Madrid and Malaga, Spain and in 2006 in Rome, Paris, Moscow, Barcelona, the French city of Lyon, and Cologne, Germany.
