Dominican NBA Star Provides Footwear for Needy Children
August 14 -- Charlie Villanueva of the Milwaukee Bucks, who was born in the Dominican Republic, has collaborated with Crocs Inc. to implement an initiative called SolesUnited community. This program is the first of its kind where Crocs are recycled to create new shoes, which are then donated to needy people around the world.
On the weekend of August 29 to 31, the noted launch will begin with the donation of 10,000 shoes for children in the Dominican Republic, particularly in schools and orphanages in the following cities: Puerto Plata, Cabrera, and Santiago. The importance of this contribution is that shoes will help reduce exposure to injuries and foot infections.
