Last Second Iverson OT Jumper Carries Nuggets Past Blazers

Denver Nugget guard Allen Iverson's hit a 14-foot jumper with less than a second remaining in overtime to lift his team to a 105-103 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Feb. 4.

Denver held a big lead in first half, but the Blazers battled back to force overtime. Carmelo Anthony led the team with 28 points and 15 rebounds. Iverson had 25 points.

Iverson's 10-foot jumper gave the Nuggets an 82-81 lead in the fourth quarter against Portland. J.R. Smith added a 3-pointer and Linas Kleiza's dunk extended the lead to six.

Trail Blazer forward Travis Outlaw was fouled with 2.9 seconds remaining in regulation, and converted one of two free throws to tie the game at 100. Iverson's 3-point heave at the buzzer missed, sending the game into overtime.

Both teams struggled to score in the overtime, until Iverson's jumper fell with 0.9 seconds left. Portland's Brandon Roy missed a desperation 3-point attempt, ending the game. He finished with 26 points.

Denver center Marcus Camby did not play for the second straight game because of a knee contusion. The Trail Blazers played without James Jones due to pain in his left knee.
