Lakers Lose Squeaker to Kings

Sacramento Kings guard Beno Udrih converted two free throws to put his team up by one with just over 4 seconds remaining in the game. When Kobe Bryant's 18-foot jumper rimmed out at the buzzer, the Kings defeated the Lakers 114-113.

Sacramento was coming off a 111-103 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, only the third team this season to drop a home game to Minnesota.

Udrih posted 25 points and 10 assists for the Kings, who won for only the second time in 9 games including a loss to the Lakers earlier in the week. Guard Kevin Martin chipped in with 21 points and forward Ron Artest had 17.

Bryant tallied 26, but scored just 6 points on 1-of-7 shooting in the second half of the game. Los Angeles lost for only the second time in 15 games.

Laker forward Pau Gasol hit a layup with 15 seconds for a 113-112 lead, but Udrih was then fouled and he sank both from the charity stripe.
