Revitalized Odom Playing Well for New-Look Lakers

The NBA trade deadline has passed, and Lamar Odom is still with the Los Angeles Lakers, just where he wants to be.

For years, he has had to endure rumors of trades. Last year, it was him going to New Jersey for guard Jason Kidd. The year before that, it was to the New York Knicks for Jamal Crawford, Nate Robinson and Channing Frye.

This year, all was tranquil and that's just fine with Odom. The big trade for Pau Gasol has turned out spectacularly, with Odom playing very well in either the 3- or 4-spot. When center Andrew Bynum returns to action, Odom will likely be logging most of his minutes at the small forward position, a natural one for him.

The frontline of Odom, Gasol and Bynum promised to be a fierce one, and Lakers fans can't wait for everyone to be healthy so that a run to the championship can get underway.

Odom has pulled down ten or more rebounds in 7 of the last 8 games and is averaging almost 15 points and 13 rebound since the Gasol acquisition. Not only that, he is shooting a stellar 63 percent over the last 8 games.
