Kobe Bryant and LeBron James NBA Players of the Month

Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant and Cleveland Cavaliers guard LeBron James, both all-star starters, were named the Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Month for February.

Bryant guided the Lakers to a 13-2 record, averaging 27.2 points, 6 assists and 2 steals. Shooting over 50% from the field, he scored 30 points or over on 8 occasions and more than 40 twice.

James is a consecutive winner of the award and led the league in scoring during the month of February, averaging 30 points, 9 rebounds and 8.5 assists. The Cavaliers went 8-6 for the month. Reaching another milestone, on February 27 James became the youngest player to reach 10,000 points.

Other nominees were Detroit Pistons' Chauncey Billups, Golden State Warriors' Monta Ellis, Houston Rockets' Tracy McGrady, Los Angeles Clippers' Corey Maggette, Orlando Magic's Dwight Howard, Philadelphia 76er's Andre Miller and San Antonio Spur's Manu Ginobili.
