Terry Porter Interviewed for Phoenix Suns' Top Job

May 16 - Phoenix Suns GM Steve Kerr interviewed Detroit Pistons assistant coach Terry Porter Thursday for the Suns vacant head coaching position.

Porter was the Milwaukee Bucks' head coach from 2003-05 and led the team to a 71-93 record. He has been the Piston's top assistant for the past two seasons. Before taking over the Bucks, Porter was an assistant for one year with the Sacramento Kings.

As a player, Porter was known as a strong defender, which would seem to assuage Kerr's concerns about his team's defense. Porter played with Kerr during his final two seasons with the San Antonio Spurs.

The Suns were also expected to interview television analyst Mark Jackson and Houston Rockets assistant Elston Turner.
