NBA Post-Season Classic: Spurs vs. Suns

April 21 - In perhaps the best weekend of post-season professional basketball ever, one game stood above all the rest - an absolutely classic game between long-time rivals the San Antonio Spurs and the Phoenix Suns.

In an classic game featuring hug shots, San Antonio guard Manu Ginobili had the biggest one of all. His off-balance layup with less than 2 seconds left in the second overtime provided the Spurs a 117-115 win the Suns in their first-round series opener Saturday.

The game went back and forth for over three hours before the defending champion Spurs finally took it on Ginobili's heroics. One of the most intense playoff games in league history saw first Michael Finley, then Tim Duncan and lastly, Steve Nash hit tying three-pointers to keep the game going.

It was a demoralizing loss for Phoenix, a team who was eliminated by San Antonio in 2005 and 2007. Point guard Nash appeared to ensure a third overtime when he hit a three from with 15 seconds remaining to tie the game at 115. But Ginobili drove past Raja Bell and put in a flying layup off the glass, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.

The most memorable shot was a three-pointer by Duncan - his first of the season - which extended the game into the second overtime.
