Dallas Cowboys' Jerry Jones to Help Bring NBA All-Star Game to Texas

May 29 -- Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed yesterday that he's working with Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban on a deal to bring the 2010 NBA All-Star Game to his $1.1 billion stadium in Arlington, Texas, which opens next year.

NBA officials have already toured the new stadium but said no formal bid has been presented.

At the new retractable-roof Arlington stadium, a configuration for basketball would make the seating capacity much larger than the Mavericks' home arena (American Airlines Center), so season ticket holders requests could be accommodated and the NBA's ticket demands could also be satisfied - a previous point of contention between Cuban and league officials.

If the game is held at the new stadium, other events during the NBA All-Star Weekend -- including the slam dunk contest and the 3-point shooting event -- could take place at American Airlines Center, which seats more than 20,000.
